Premises Portal

Expanding Fire Safety Inspection Services Compliance Across Your Community

Premises Portal is an integrated service within The Compliance Engine (TCE) that brings property owners directly into the compliance process for fire safety inspection services.

At BRYCER, we recognize that property owners and managers play a critical role in maintaining fire and life safety systems. Premises Portal provides a structured, secure way to submit inspection reports, view system status, and stay aligned with your local fire department.

By expanding participation, without changing the role of service providers, Premises Portal gives property owners a clearer path to compliance and gives jurisdictions a more complete view of system activity across their community.

The Challenge: Gaps in Reporting and Visibility

Compliance reporting for fire safety inspection services has traditionally centered around licensed service providers, which remains essential for most regulated systems. However, some systems, such as emergency and exit lighting, can be inspected without a licensed technician. When those inspections occur outside a traditional workflow, reports are often never submitted, making it harder to identify risks and ensure compliance across the jurisdiction.

As a result, both fire departments and property owners are left without a complete picture
of compliance.

Fire departments are left with incomplete and inconsistent compliance records

Premises lack a clear, standardized path to submit reports

Property owners have limited visibility into their compliance status within TCE

No direct communication pathway between premises and fire departments

The result? Fewer data sources, reduced visibility, and systems that fall outside enforcement.

The Opportunity:
Expanding Participation, Strengthening Compliance

Premises Portal creates a direct path for property owners to participate in TCE without disrupting existing service provider workflows. By capturing reports that were previously missed, fire departments gain a more complete and accurate view of system activity across their community, while property owners gain a clearer picture of their building safety and compliance status.

Increased reporting for systems by expanding accessibility

Improved data accuracy across more properties and system types

Clear accountability for property owners and managers

Stronger visibility for fire departments to track, manage, and enforce compliance

The impact? More complete data leads to stronger compliance outcomes and safer communities.

Bringing Emergency & Exit Lighting into
The Compliance Engine

Property owners can conduct and submit inspection reports directly in TCE for systems like emergency and exit lighting—giving them a simple way to stay compliant and maintain visibility into their building safety.

Emergency and exit lighting systems are critical to building safety but have historically been underreported. Because these inspections do not always require a licensed technician, reports are often not submitted through traditional workflows.

This is why BRYCER introduced Premises Portal. Premises Portal helps close this gap
by capturing these inspections in a structured, trackable way within TCE.

Greater visibility for fire departments into previously underreported systems

Automated renewal and overdue notifications—
no separate process required

Providing Flexibility—
Not Requirements

For systems like emergency and exit lighting, Premises Portal offers an additional way to submit inspection reports in TCE. Property owners may choose to submit directly or continue working with a licensed service provider—both approaches are fully supported.

- No requirement for property owners to submit reports themselves
+ Adds a flexible path for reporting without changing existing workflows

This approach helps fire departments gain more complete data while
preserving trusted compliance workflows.

How It Works

When Premises Portal is enabled within your jurisdiction:

1

Local Fire Department enables Premises Portal

Fire Departments activate the feature and define which systems are eligible for premises submission.

2

Property owners
receive access

Property owners are invited to register and securely access their property within The Compliance Engine.

3

Reports are submitted
directly in TCE

Property owners can submit inspection reports for systems—such as emergency and exit lighting—and view their compliance status in one place.  (Note: For these systems, property owners may submit directly or continue working with a licensed service provider. Both options are supported within TCE.)

4

Local Fire Department

maintains full visibility

All submissions, whether from service providers or premises, are centralized for review, tracking, and enforcement.

Premises Portal expands compliance participation without increasing administrative burden for fire departments or service providers.

BRYCER is here to help jurisdictions see more, act faster, and strengthen overall compliance without changing the present model they rely on.
